Energy By Design is comprised of home energy raters that are RESNET certified, knowledgeable, and have demonstrated a high standard of technical proficiency. Energy By Design is committed to maintaining and improving building science insight and skills through continuing education.

RESNET's purpose is to set the standard for quality of home energy audits and ratings, and has developed stringent industry standards to ensure the highest quality of service. RESNET raters are obligated to conduct energy audits and ratings in strict accordance with the RESNET Standards of Practice and Code of Ethi​cs.

BPI Building Analyst

Several certifications through the Building Performance Institute have allowed Energy By Design to assist builders with the Blower Door and Duct Leakage Testing they need to comply with the Florida Energy Code. The BPI Building Analyst, Building Envelope, Infiltration and HVAC Duct Leakage certifications, qualify Energy By Design to perform comprehensive, whole-home energy efficiency assessments. and trace problems at their root cause. We have the ability to prescribe and prioritize solutions based on building science knowledge.

Energy By Design uses Wrightsoft to provide builders and homeowners with documentation needed during the permitting process. Energy Calculations are used to demonstrate compliance to the energy code and include the R405, inspection checklist, EPL certificate and the mandatory requirements to comply with the energy code.

Energy By Design uses EnergyGauge software to provide builders and homeowners with Residential Energy Code Compliance, Hourly Simulation Energy Analysis and Economic Analysis of Energy Improvements. EnergyGauge reports include the compliance certificate, inspection checklist, panel certificate and the mandatory requirements to comply with the energy code.

Energy By Design performs ACCA Manual J load calculations. ACCA Manual J is the most proven method for determining building loads. The Manual J calculates the amount of heat that is lost and gained through the building envelope. Most building departments require an ACCA Manual J calculation be performed in order to demonstrate that the equipment selected meets but does not exceed the load.

Energy By Design prepares ACCA Manual S reports. ACCA Manual S is the most proven method for determining HVAC equipment sizing and is required for permitting by most building departments. ACCA Manual S utilizes the load calculation determined by the Manual J along with the OEM data for the building's outdoor and indoor design conditions to determine the correct size of equipment.
